English Cerebral Palsy Article 3
· The cause of Cerebral Palsy comes from the brain and can result from many causes
· Another cause of Cerebral Palsy can be from problems during child birth
· Each type of Cerebral Palsy is caused by damage of different parts of the brain
· The ataxic type of Cerebral Palsy is actually caused by damage to the cerebellum
· To treat Cerebral Palsy is to go to certain types of therapy like; speech therapy, physical therapy, social therapy etc….
· Almost 70% of Cerebral Palsy patients have partial spastic weakness
· Spastic Cerebral Palsy is when the muscles tighten and it is not easy to flex
· 20% percent of Cerebral Palsy patients have athetoid Cerebral Palsy, which also causes unusual muscle movement
· One out of four Cerebral Palsy patients have a severe case of Cerebral Palsy, two out of four have moderately affected Cerebral Palsy and one has mildly affected Cerebral Palsy
· Mental Retardation can be an very severe effect of Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy Article 1
· Cerebral Palsy occurs in more than 500,000 people just in the United States each year.
· The disease occurs usually and in most cases before birth because it is usually can be from brain damage.
· All together Cerebral Palsy is a disorder in the brain that affects someone’s body movement or coordination.
· There are 3 types of Cerebral Palsy spastic, athetoid and ataxic.
· Spastic Cerebral Palsy makes it hard for people to move their body, Athetoid Cerebral Palsy causes people to have trouble controlling their movements and Ataxic Cerebral Palsy causes people to have depth perception problems or balance issues.
· Most of the time doctors do not know what causes Cerebral Palsy, but it is a known fact that it’s related to damage in the brain.
· The risk of Cerebral Palsy can be increased if the baby is underweight and doesn’t receive enough oxygen during its birth.
· Finding Cerebral Palsy can be difficult because it can’t be found in a blood or urine test.
· Cerebral Palsy can be somewhat detected through a CT or MRI scan.
· Depending on the severeness of Cerebral Palsy some people will have to use wheelchairs or crutches, or some may not need anything.
